[Wednesday afternoon]

*herds Smokescreen towards a private room in the medbay.  After what happened in the brig, he wanted to do a thorough scan to make sure that everything was all right.  And he wanted to find out exactly what had happened*

*and yes, he wanted to know exactly what this meant in terms of bonding*

All right, get your aft on a berth and let me run a few more scans.

[Saturday evening]

Nearly ready to finish off the repairs on Trailbreaker and Inferno.  Once that's done, they can get out of here.  I know they'll have a better time recharging in their own quarters.  Or whoever quarter's they'll be recharging in.  *shifts uncomfortably as thinking about that reminds him that Trailbreaker is with Silverbolt and that just brings the whole argument back to the forefront of his processor*

And then I get to fix up Wheeljack again.  Fool mech ran into Blitzwing and got himself injured.  I... I want to ask Smokescreen about bonds and how pain gets transferred... but I'm not entirely sure I want to know the answer.

*shakes his head and crosses to Trailbreaker's berth, spare arm in hand*

[Sunday afternoon]

Finally managed to get hold of Wheeljack.  After feeling his pain... and I can only presume it was his pain, my sensors are calibrated just fine and they're not glitching... Frag, I don't think I've been so worried.

And if I'm honest, I'm scared that I felt it... brings the war back home in a whole new light.

Fraggit, I'm dreading seeing what he's done to himself.

*putters around the med bay, organising and reorganising things to keep himself busy and distracted from his thoughts until Wheeljack makes it in*

[Early Saturday morning]

*After arguing with Silverbolt, Ratchet had stormed out of the medbay.  Thankfully, with the early hour, there were few mechs around.  And the few that were around didn't argue with Ratchet once they saw the look on his face.  He headed straight for the entrance to the Ark, pausing once he stepped outside*

Fragging idiot.  *he muttered to himself, shaking his head and walking again.  This time, he headed for the mountain path.  He needed to be alone.  Wanted to think on what had happened.  Even though he knew he probably shouldn't.  That he'd just end up dwelling on it.  But Silverbolt had made his feelings perfectly clear*

*sitting down on a rocky ledge, Ratchet looked out across the countryside, the darkness just beginning to lift*

Shouldn't have approached him.  Slagging sentimental old fool.  I should have known better... *mutters to himself, holding his head in his hands*

[Friday afternoon]

That's it.  I'm placing a tracking device in his plating next time I've got him in the medbay!

If he wants me to check over the plans for his latest invention, then he actually has to be available when I've done what he asked and ready to tell him my findings!

*grumbles to himself* Sometimes I don't think Red Alert has enough to do.  Fragging making us change all our codes and passwords.  Does he not realise how many codes some of us have?

*throws his datapad down on the desk* Gah.  Between this and Sideswipe thinking he can take the Dinobots on on his own... do I not have enough work?

*After the events of the day, it was a rather dirtier Ratchet and Wheeljack that made their way back to the Ark. Ratchet was quieter, already mourning the loss of their free time together. He was fully expecting to be accosted as soon as he rolled in sight of the Ark. He just had to hope that Sunstreaker and Sideswipe had behaved themselves and hadn't injured themselves or anyone else*

[Smut warning within contents... it's Ratchet and Wheeljack alone together, what else did you expect? They can't keep their hands off one another!]

[Timestamp: Tuesday morning]

I feel like a youngling sneaking away from his creator.  Wheeljack and I have coinciding shifts off.  So after a... a lie in... we're going to disappear for the day.  Just go out and drive somewhere, I don't care where, just as long as I'm with 'Jack.

Just got to get some energon to take with us.

*stands, intent on heading towards the rec room, hoping not to meet up with anyone on the way*

[Timestamp: Monday evening]

*It was late Monday evening by the time Ratchet and Smokescreen made it back to the Ark.  The journey had been made mostly in silence, Ratchet deeming it wiser to leave Smokescreen to his own thoughts.  Frag knows what was going on, but he guessed it had something to do with Swindle and their bond.  But Ratchet wasn't about to pry*

*Once they got back to base, Ratchet shepherded Smokescreen straight into the medbay without letting him transform.  A few hours later and Ratchet stepped back, having fixed the worst of the damage to Smokescreen's alt mode*

All right, you're safe to transform.  I'll want you to refuel before I do anymore work.

*he'd noticed Prime's absence, really, how could he not?  But, deciding that Smokescreen took precedence over shouting at Prime, Ratchet had continued working on the Datsun*

(*OOC If I'm taking liberties, shoot me...?))

[Timestamp: Monday morning]

*Having finally dealt with all the paperwork, and having done what he could for Beachcomber and Seaspray (which wasn't much, unfortunately), Ratchet had taken a brief 'nap' in his office*

*Once he'd woken up and realised the time, he sent a quick message to Red Alert, informing him that he was going out to meet an injured Smokescreen.  To be sure, he gave Red Alert the route he would be taking, and the route Smokescreen had sent him.  Grabbing a field kit, he made his way out to the front entrance, transforming and hitting the road*
